General Manager – Resources (Executive Leadership Role)

FGI Resources is entering a significant phase of expansion across mining and broader resource sector opportunities.

We are seeking an experienced General Manager for our Resources sector to join our executive team within our newly established Sydney CBD office. Working directly alongside the Managing Director and appointed CFO , you will play a critical role in shaping enterprise strategy, guiding investment decisions, and scaling the business nationally and internationally.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the centre of FGI Resources’ growth agenda, with accountability for strategic direction, commercial performance, and portfolio oversight across our resources business.

You will play a key role in

- Driving business growth and diversification across mining and resource sectors
- Influencing investment strategy, capital allocation, and project selection
- Providing executive oversight of the resources portfolio (non-operational)
- Building organisational capability as FGI scales nationally and internationally

Key Responsibilities

- Provide executive leadership across the resource's portfolio with a strong focus on strategy and growth
- Partner with the Managing Director and CFO to shape and execute business strategy
- Oversee financial performance, including P&L;, margins, and commercial outcomes




- Identify and secure new business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion initiatives
- Lead high-level stakeholder engagement with clients, partners, investors, and industry stakeholders
- Establish governance frameworks to ensure strong performance across safety, risk, and compliance
- Build and lead a high-performing leadership team to deliver on strategic objectives

About You

- Proven experience at General Manager / Executive level within mining, resources, or civil sectors
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated experience in strategy, investment, and growth leadership
- Experience managing large-scale portfolios, business units, or multi-project environments at a strategic level
- Established industry network with the ability to influence and secure new opportunities
- Highly credible executive leader with the ability to operate at senior stakeholder level
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Mining, Business or similar
