The prospect

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner who enjoys being close to the business, building trusted relationships and helping managers handle people matters with confidence.

This is a broad, hands-on generalist role spanning employee relations, recruitment, performance, wellbeing, workforce planning and compliance. You will turn sound people practices into everyday action, helping to build capable and engaged teams that deliver the very best care for our residents and clients.

What you will do

- Partner with and coach managers across day-to-day people matters, performance, grievances, investigations and disciplinary processes.

- Lead end-to-end recruitment and lead onboarding so new starters feel welcome, safe and set up to succeed.

- Interpret and apply Fair Work legislation, Modern Awards, enterprise agreements and Garden Village policies, escalating complex matters when needed.

- Lead and/or support enterprise agreement negotiations and resolution of industrial matters, escalating complex matters when needed.

- Support performance and development, workforce planning, retention and engagement initiatives.

- Promote a safe workplace by supporting wellbeing,



WHS and return-to-work activities alongside managers and the WHS team.

- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, support audit-ready compliance and help embed Garden Village's values and inclusive culture.

What you will bring

- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, or equivalent HR generalist experience.

- Demonstrated HR generalist or business partnering experience, including hands-on employee relations.

- Sound working knowledge of Fair Work legislation, Modern Awards and contemporary HR practice.

- Confidence coaching and influencing managers at all levels, including through sensitive matters.

- Experience using HRIS and recruitment systems.

- Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and follow matters through.

- A current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one, and the right to work in Australia.

Highly regarded

- Experience in aged care, health, disability or another regulated, care-based sector, including familiarity with the Aged Care Award and compliance requirements.

- Exposure to WHS and return-to-work processes.

- Experience with negotiating enterprise agreements and resolving industrial matters.
