This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026.

Bob Hawke College in Subiaco opened in February 2020 to more than 250 Year 7 students and is the first high density public secondary college in Western Australia. The College has current enrolments of 2015 with around 20% of students having an imputed or diagnosed disability, 25% of students speak a language other than English at home and the College includes 34 Aboriginal students.

Our pastoral care approach has been specifically designed to support young adults. Specialist staff provide students with individual support as well as health and wellbeing programs. The Role

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and friendly Workplace Learning and Vocational Education and Training Support Officer to join our Pathways and Destinations team in establishing and operating the college’s Vocational Education and Training (VET)/Workplace Learning (WPL) program.

In collaboration with the Pathways and Destinations team, the successful applicant would consider students’ skills and abilities to identify pathways for employment or activities other than employment. Part of the role includes:

- Sourcing and tailoring VET programs
- Identifying appropriate work placements for students
- Conduct site visits and meetings with employers
- Assist in the training and induction of students as well as Monitor student work placement progress

The desired applicant should have experience in developing, implementing,



evaluating and reporting on suitable programs for students in acquiring work skills and/or accessing recreational activities. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students, employers and parents is important to succeed in this role. In-addition, the ability to show initiative and good organisational skills to coordinate activity placements and manage workload within allocated timeframes is highly desirable.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

- be an Australian or Current Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
