Medical Edge Australia | Keysborough, Melbourne VIC | Full Time (casual available)

Help coordinate patient transport across Australia

Medical Edge Australia is looking for a highly organised, customer focused Communications Support Officer to join our growing operations team in Keysborough.

This is a varied, fast paced role sitting at the centre of our Non Emergency Patient Transport operations. You will take calls and bookings from hospitals, healthcare providers and other customers requiring patient transport, coordinate schedules, dispatch crews and help ensure patients get where they need to be, safely and efficiently.

If you have strong customer service experience, love organising and coordinating multiple moving parts, and can stay calm when things get busy, this could be an excellent next step.

Experience within healthcare administration, patient services, scheduling, rostering, logistics or dispatch would be a significant advantage, but we are equally interested in great customer service people who have the ability to learn.

About Medical Edge Australia

Medical Edge Australia is a growing Australian healthcare provider delivering services across Non Emergency Patient Transport, medical and event services, industrial healthcare, training and other healthcare operations.

Our Communications team plays a critical role in connecting patients, hospitals, healthcare providers and our operational crews across multiple states.

As our operations continue to grow, there will be opportunities for the right person to develop their skills, take on additional responsibility and build a career within the broader Medical Edge Australia business.

What you'll be doing

No two days will look exactly the same.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Taking inbound calls and responding to patient transport booking enquiries
- Receiving and processing transport bookings from hospitals, healthcare providers and other customers
- Providing professional, helpful and reassuring customer service over the phone and through email
- Accurately entering and updating bookings within our dispatch system
- Scheduling patient transport and coordinating available crews and vehicles
- Dispatching crews according to operational requirements and priorities
- Communicating with hospitals, patients, healthcare teams and operational staff
- Monitoring bookings and adjusting schedules as circumstances change throughout the day
- Managing competing priorities and helping resolve issues in real time
- Maintaining accurate and confidential operational records
- Providing general administrative and operational support to the wider team

About you

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys dealing with people while also having the organisational skills to keep things moving behind the scenes.

You will ideally bring:

- Excellent customer service skills, particularly over the phone
- Experience in a customer facing environment, either by phone, face to face, or ideally both
- Robust communication skills and a confident,

professional phone manner
- The ability to organise, schedule and coordinate multiple activities at once
- Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
- Good judgement and problem solving skills
- The ability to remain calm and professional when priorities change
- A proactive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a close knit operational team

Highly regarded

Experience in any of the following would be a strong advantage:

- Scheduling or rostering

You don't necessarily need to come from healthcare. If you have exceptional customer service skills, are highly organised and have experience coordinating bookings, appointments, schedules or people, we'd still like to hear from you.

Why join Medical Edge Australia?

This is much more than a traditional call taking role.

You'll become part of the operational hub of a growing healthcare organisation, working across customer service, healthcare, scheduling, dispatch and operations.

You'll have the opportunity to:

- Work in a role with genuine variety
- Develop valuable healthcare operations experience
- Build skills across scheduling, dispatch and operational coordination
- Work closely with healthcare professionals and operational teams
- Take on greater responsibility as your knowledge and experience grows
- Explore future career opportunities across Medical Edge Australia's expanding operations

If you're an organised people person who enjoys solving problems, coordinating moving parts and delivering great customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
