GrainKing Pty Ltd is seeking a reliable, hardworking and mechanically minded Trades Assistant to join our service team based in Canning Vale.

This is a hands-on role supporting our service technicians with workshop and site-based work. The successful applicant will assist with general trade support, preparation, assembly, clean-up, material handling and service work. This role will also involve travelling and working on farms across Australia, so flexibility and a willingness to work away from home when required is essential.

About the Role

As a Trades Assistant, you will work closely with our service technicians to assist with day-to-day workshop duties and on-site service work. You will be part of a practical, fast-paced team environment where safety, reliability and attention to detail are important.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist service technicians and tradespeople with workshop and site-based tasks.

· Support assembly, preparation, repairs, servicing and general trade work.

· Assist with loading, unloading, moving and preparing materials and equipment.

· Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly.

· Keep work areas clean, organised and safe.

· Follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently.

· Complete paperwork accurately when required.

· Travel to farms and customer sites across Australia as part of the service team.

· Maintain a strong commitment to safe work practices.

About You

· Comfortable working in a hands-on workshop or site environment.

· Mechanically minded with a willingness to learn.

Requirements

· Previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical or trades assistant role is preferred.

· Experience using hand tools and power tools is preferred.

· A valid driver’s licence is required.

· Applicants must be based in Australia and have the right to work in Australia (Visa Sponsorship may be offered for a suitable applicant).

Desirable Skills and Licences

The following are preferred but not essential:

· Forklift licence.

· White Card.

· Certificate I–IV or relevant trade-related training.

· Mechanical aptitude or experience assisting boilermakers, welders, fitters, fabricators or service technicians.
