Job Description

Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant Jindalee is looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Head Chef with the daily operation of the kitchen.
- Lead and support the kitchen team during preparation and service.
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Prepare and cook food according to Pepe’s recipes and standards.
- Monitor stock levels, food storage and minimise wastage.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
- Train and support junior kitchen team members.
- Assist with ordering, stock control and kitchen cost management.




- Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently during busy service periods.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and management to maintain Pepe’s standards.

About You

- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or senior Chef.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workplace.
- High attention to food quality and consistency.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene.
- Reliable, organised and hands-on.
- Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
