Our fantastic pub is seeking an experienced Duty Manager / Assistant Manager Pub to join our team in Coffs Harbour, NSW. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to lead and manage day-to-day operations at our busy pub establishment. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining operational excellence, and driving profitability. You will work collaboratively with the management team to create a welcoming setting for guests whilst maintaining the highest standards of service and hospitality.

Key responsibilities

- Supervise and manage all front-of-house and back-of-house staff during shifts, ensuring excellent customer service standards are consistently maintained
- Monitor and control inventory, including beverages, food, and supplies, whilst minimising waste and managing costs effectively
- Ensure compliance with all licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies at all times
- Handle cash reconciliation, till management, and financial reporting with accuracy and accountability
- Respond to customer complaints and concerns professionally, resolving issues to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Train, mentor and support bar and hospitality staff to deliver consistent, high-quality service
- Manage bookings, seating arrangements and special events to maximise revenue and customer experience
- Conduct regular stock takes and maintain detailed records of inventory and ordering
- Assist the General Manager with administrative duties, planning and strategic initiatives
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the venue, including bar, dining areas and facilities

What we're looking for

- Proven experience of 2-3 years in a pub, bar or hospitality management role, preferably in a duty manager or assistant manager capacity
- Strong knowledge of bar operations, including drinks service, cellar management and responsible alcohol service




- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage and develop staff effectively
- Demonstrated experience in cash handling, inventory management and financial reporting
- Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Comprehensive understanding of liquor licensing laws, food safety standards and health and safety regulations relevant to hospitality venues
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with team members, customers and suppliers
- A positive attitude, reliability and commitment to providing exceptional service
- RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification or willingness to obtain
- Food handling certificate or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience with hospitality point-of-sale systems is advantageous
