Electrician / Electrical Fitter - Industrial

Macfarlane Generators Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrician / Electrical Fitter - Industrial to join our team on a full-time basis in Seven Hills, NSW. This is a key position within our organisation, where you will play a vital role in the maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical systems and equipment on generator sets. Your expertise will be fundamental to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our customers generator sets and related electrical infrastructure, supporting the continued success of our business and the satisfaction of our clients.

What you'll be doing

Installing, maintaining, and repairing generators, switchboards, and distribution equipment

Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance on generator sets to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations

Troubleshooting electrical faults and diagnosing problems using appropriate testing equipment and methodologies

Performing electrical upgrades and modifications to existing systems in accordance with technical specifications and client requirements

Ensuring all work is completed in compliance with Australian electrical standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices

Liaising with clients to understand their electrical needs and providing technical advice and recommendations

Maintaining detailed records of work performed, including maintenance logs and job documentation

What we're looking for

Recognised electrical trade qualification or equivalent apprenticeship completion in electrical fitting or a related discipline

Current electrical licence appropriate to the work being performed in New South Wales

Minimum of 1-3 years' hands-on experience in industrial electrical work, preferably with generator systems or similar equipment





Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations, including AS/NZS 3000 and relevant workplace safety legislation

Proficiency in the use of electrical testing and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, and power quality analysers

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues

A commitment to workplace safety and a proven track record of secure work practices

A current driver's licence

Desirable: Experience with industrial control systems, PLC programming, or diesel generator maintenance
