We are seeking an experienced Café Manager to join our team and oversee the café’s day-to-day operations, deliver exceptional customer experience, and maintain high standards of service and team performance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on ensuring efficient, smooth, and professional operations.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing development and success of the café while working in one of Victoria’s most iconic coastal destinations.

Your Duties and Responsibilities:

- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business to ensure efficient and smooth service.
- Working with Director and chef on developing menus that enhance customer experience and promote business growth.
- Recruiting, training and supervising employees, ensuring high standards of performance and customer service.
- Preparing staff rosters and coordinating staffing levels to meet operational requirements during trading hours.
- Planning and implementing promotional activities and seasonal menu offerings to enhance customer experience and support sales growth.
- Coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation, consistent quality and timely service of customer orders.
- Arranging the purchasing of food,



beverages and other supplies in accordance with operational requirements and budgets.
- Monitoring stock levels, managing inventory and implementing appropriate stock rotation and control procedures to minimise waste.
- Managing operational budgets, monitoring costs and contributing to the achievement of sales and profitability targets.
- Preparing daily cash reconciliations, overseeing point-of-sale (POS) operations and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Delivering outstanding customer service, handling customer feedback professionally and resolving issues promptly.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety regulations.
- Maintaining a clean, functional, and aesthetically pleasing dining environment.

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate the following:

- An AQF Diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field, undertaken and completed in Australia.
- A minimum of one year of full-time relevant experience in a café, restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
- Excellent leadership, team management and staff development skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety requirements.
- Solid organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to multitask, work under pressure and effectively manage a busy hospitality environment.
- A genuine passion for hospitality, a positive work ethic and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
