Heathdale Christian College is a thriving multi-campus Christian learning community of almost 400 staff and more than 2,600 students across Melbourne's western corridor. Watermark Search International has been engaged to appoint an outstanding Director of People & Culture to join the Senior Leadership Team and help shape the future of the College.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Executive Principal, this newly created executive role will provide strategic leadership across workforce planning, organisational design, leadership capability, culture, governance and people systems.
This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a contemporary People & Culture function within a growing, values-driven organisation. The successful candidate will establish the frameworks, systems and leadership practices required to support organisational excellence, strengthen workforce capability and ensure the College is well positioned for future growth.
The Director of People & Culture will be a trusted advisor to the Executive Principal and Senior Leadership Team, combining strategic thinking with practical execution, driving a culture of authentic Christian community and demonstrating a genuine desire to see others flourish.
Key priorities include:
- Workforce strategy and organisational design
- Leadership development and succession planning
- Culture,
engagement and employee experience
- Recruitment, onboarding and talent management
- Governance, compliance and people risk
- HR systems, processes and continuous improvement
- Executive coaching and trusted leadership advisory support
The Candidate
You are a seasoned People & Culture leader who combines strategic thinking with practical execution.
You bring experience building capability, systems and culture within a growing and evolving organisation, together with the ability to influence at executive level and lead meaningful organisational change.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Significant senior leadership experience in People & Culture, HR or organisational development
- Experience building or transforming people functions and workforce capability
- Robust knowledge of employment relations, governance and compliance
- Demonstrated success leading organisational change and leadership development initiatives
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and advisory skills
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional HR credentials
- An authentic and active Christian faith aligned with the mission and values of the College
