Role Description The Lead Carpenter is a full-time, on-site role based in Brisbane, QLD. This position oversees day-to-day carpentry activities on residential construction projects, including planning work sequences, assigning tasks, and ensuring high-quality workmanship.

The Lead

Carpenter will perform framing, structural work, and finish carpentry, use a range of hand and power tools safely, and interpret plans and specifications accurately.

Responsibilities include coordinating with site supervisors and other trades, monitoring materials and equipment,



maintaining a safe and clean worksite, and mentoring junior carpenters and apprentices. The role also involves identifying and resolving in office issues promptly to keep projects on schedule and aligned with Rymer’s standards.

Qualifications

- Strong carpentry skills, including experience with framing and finish carpentry.
- Proficient use of hand tools and power tools, with a strong focus on safety and equipment care.
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in carpentry, and demonstrated experience in residential construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Experience leading on-site teams, coordinating tasks, and mentoring less experienced team members.
- Solid understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and site safety practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines.
- Current driver’s license and ability to work full time on-site in Brisbane, QLD.
