Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise carpentry crews and subcontractors on site.
- Coordinate day-to-day carpentry activities and ensure works are completed in accordance with plans, specifications and program requirements.
- Read and interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings.
- Set out and check framing, structural works and general carpentry.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high-quality standard and in accordance with the NCC, relevant Australian Standards and company requirements.
- Coordinate materials, deliveries and site requirements with the Project Manager.
- Monitor productivity and assist with keeping projects on schedule.
- Identify and resolve construction issues before they impact the program.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the build and rectify any issues as required.
- Maintain a protected, clean and organized worksite.
- Communicate effectively with trades, subcontractors, suppliers and management.
- Provide guidance and support to apprentices and junior carpenters.
- Complete hands-on carpentry works.
- Assist the Project Manager with daily site reporting, progress updates and general coordination.
