Our client is a rapidly growing healthcare business nationally and a significant operational footprint across Australia.

As part of this continued growth, the business is looking to appoint a Legal Counsel to work directly with the General Counsel in a broad, commercially focused in-house role.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to step into a genuinely varied in-house position with strong business exposure, autonomy and mentorship.

The Role

This role will have a strong focus on leasing and property matters, while also providing broad exposure to general commercial legal work across the business.

Key responsibilities will include

- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating lease agreements
- Advising on general commercial contracts and operational matters
- Corporate governance and regulatory compliance work
- Assisting with employment law and HR-related matters
- Supporting the business on a range of day-to-day legal issues
- Managing legal documentation and improving internal processes

The role will suit someone who enjoys variety and wants exposure beyond a narrow specialist practice area.





About You The business is looking for a pragmatic and commercially minded lawyer who is comfortable working closely with stakeholders across a growing organisation.

You are likely to have:

- Approximately 3–5 years’ PAE
- Experience in leasing/property law
- Strong drafting and communication skills
- A proactive and organised working style
- A practical and solutions-focused mindset
- The ability to work autonomously in a lean legal team

In-house experience is not essential.

This opportunity will be particularly attractive to lawyers currently working in leasing/property teams who are looking to broaden their experience and transition into a more generalist commercial in-house role.
