About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Practice Administrator to join our team in a key 2IC role supporting the Legal Practice Administration Manager.
This is an opportunity for a highly organised and proactive legal administration professional who enjoys taking ownership, supporting others and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy legal practice.
Working closely with the Legal Practice Administration Manager, you will provide senior-level administrative support across the practice while also acting as a key point of contact for the broader Legal Practice Administration team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as 2IC to the Legal Practice Administration Manager, providing day-to-day support with the coordination and oversight of the administration function
- Providing guidance and support to Legal Practice Administrators and assisting with workflow and workload allocation
- Supporting the onboarding, training and development of new and existing administration team members
- Identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes,
systems and ways of working
- Providing flexible administrative support across the practice including managing overflow work and stepping in to assist with general admin tasks during peak periods or staff absences.
- Preparing, formatting and amending legal documents and correspondence
- Managing electronic files, document management and general matter administration
- Assisting with billing/financial tasks and queries for the team and the broader firm
- Liaising with clients and external stakeholders
- Assisting the Legal Practice Administration Manager with projects and broader operational initiatives
- Stepping into the Legal Practice Administration Manager’s responsibilities where required
About You
You will be an experienced legal administrator who is ready to take on greater responsibility and play a more senior role within an administration team.
You will ideally have:
- Significant experience in legal administration, secretarial or practice support roles
- Previous experience as a Senior Legal Assistant, Senior Legal Secretary, Practice Administrator or similar
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Confidence providing guidance and support to other administration team members
- A proactive approach and the ability to identify issues and find practical solutions
- Excellent attention to detail and document preparation skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with legal practice management and document management systems
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support the team wherever required
