About the role

Trimetal Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Machinists to join our team in Adelaide, South Australia. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work with precision machinery in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for programming, operating and maintaining CNC horizontal boring machines or Mills to produce high-quality components that meet required tolerances and specifications.

This role is integral to our production operations and plays a crucial part in delivering excellence to our clients.

Key responsibilities

- Operating horizontal boring machines & Mills to produce precision-engineered components to exact specifications and tolerances

- Setting up machines with appropriate tooling, fixtures and work-holding devices

- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and work instructions accurately to program machines

- Measuring and inspecting finished components using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers and gauges

- Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity

- Identifying and troubleshooting machine issues and making minor adjustments as required

- Maintaining accurate records of production runs and quality checks

- Adhering to all health and safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organised work area

- Collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards

What we're looking for

- A recognised Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification in machining or a related engineering discipline

- Proven experience operating horizontal boring machines or mills in a manufacturing or engineering environment

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications

- Strong understanding of precision measurement techniques and quality control standards

- Competency in using precision measuring instruments and gauges

- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand machine operations and perform basic troubleshooting





- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing work that meets strict tolerances

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

- Good communication skills and a willingness to follow instructions and procedures
- A strong commitment to health and safety practices in the workplace

- Reliability and punctuality with a professional work ethic
