The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Management & Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is key for ensuring the professional, efficient, and systematic processing of all financial accounting, reporting, and management operations. Working alongside cross-functional teams and senior leaders, you will drive key month-end processes, support budgeting, and evaluate strategic financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities
- Month-End & General Ledger: Complete monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules and support the General Manager – Finance & Program Support with overall month-end processes.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in preparing monthly management and financial reports covering the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, cash flow statements, and internal management performance.
- Investment & Capital Evaluation: Evaluate the financial viability of major investments (e.g., purchasing recent machinery) utilising metrics such as ROI and Net Present Value (NPV).
- Taxation & Compliance: Assist in the preparation of GST/BAS, FBT, and other tax submissions, ensuring full compliance with statutory reporting and accounting standards.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
Collaborate with department heads to create and manage annual budgets and ongoing forecasts.
- Audit & Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a key liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders, including Cost Controllers and Construction teams.
- Process Improvement & Ad Hoc Tasks: Identify opportunities to enhance systems and internal processes, support financial upgrades, and execute ad hoc project tasks as required.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong organisational skills and a process and deadline driven mindset with a keen eye for detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively across different teams and departments.
- High level of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive financial data.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards, policy compliance, and financial analysis metrics (ROI, NPV).
- Intermediate proficiency in SAP systems and Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related Commerce field.
- Professional Qualifications: CA/CPA qualified, or actively working towards qualification.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in financial and management accounting roles.
- Technical Skills: Sound experience in month-end reporting, tax submissions (GST/BAS, FBT), budgeting/forecasting, and ERP usage.
