APS6 Senior Investigator
About the Role
As an Investigator, you will conduct complex and sensitive investigations in accordance with Australian Government Investigation Standards and DVA policies and procedures. You will assess and manage cases, gather and analyse evidence, prepare investigation reports and briefs of evidence, and contribute to the department's payment integrity and fraud prevention activities. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies, veterans, providers, and other key stakeholders to achieve quality investigative outcomes.
Key responsibilities include
- Conducting complex and sensitive investigations in accordance with Government Investigation Standards and departmental requirements.
- Assessing, planning and managing investigations, including interviews, statements, affidavits, and evidence collection.
- Preparing investigation reports, briefs of evidence and referrals to agencies such as the Australian Federal Police and Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
- Providing evidence in criminal and civil proceedings where required.
- Analysing information and preparing accurate reports, administrative documentation, and project-related outputs.
- Building effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, partner agencies, clients,
providers and third parties.
- Supporting operational investigative activities, including occasional domestic travel and overnight stays.

Contract and Work Arrangements
- Initial 12-month contract with September start
- Two possible 6-month extensions
- Flexible work and work from home options available
- Locations available across all Australian states and territories
