We are currently recruiting a driven and experienced professional to join our Group Risk function. As a leader in our Fraud Solutions team, you’ll make an impact by:
- Shaping our defences against fraud and scams by designing and implementing clever data and algorithmic solutions to analyse, detect and prevent emerging threats.
- Providing expert advice and data-driven insights on fraud and scam typologies to help shape the strategic direction of prevention for the Bank.
- Translating complex data into clear, actionable outcomes that reduce fraud losses and protect the bank, our customers, and the community.
- Collaborating across the business to embed a proactive and intelligent approach to identifying and managing fraud and scam risk.
About the role The Manager, Fraud Analytics reports to the Senior Manager, Fraud Solutions – Data, Analytics & AI. What makes this role unique is that you won’t just be responding to instructions; you’ll be leading a team of Fraud Solution Analysts to proactively design and implement new ways to detect and prevent fraud and scams. You will use your deep experience in fraud, data, and analytics to lead your team in targeting key threats. A key focus will be on maximising benefits for customers by making their banking safer and continuing our commitment to being Australia’s most trusted bank.
Key accountabilities include
- Fraud Prevention Solutions: Analyse fraud and scam data to develop and improve data-driven solutions.
Perform research and incorporate AI/Machine Learning to develop cutting-edge prevention strategies.
- Governance and Change: Maintain and adhere to frameworks to ensure rule management is well-governed and compliant. Develop and uplift reporting to display rule performance and support operational change management activities.
- Strategic Support: Support the delivery of current products, initiatives, and systems by leading the discovery and estimation phase for rule implementation.
What you’ll bring to the role
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience as a Fraud/Scam Strategist, Fraud/Scam Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role within a banking or financial services environment.
- Strong practical experience with Business Intelligence concepts (e.g., reporting, querying software, spreadsheets, dashboards) and a solid understanding of data, machine learning, and rule management.
- Ability to articulate technical requirements to a broad set of non-technical stakeholders and influence senior management.
- A curious and enquiring mind with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle pressure and competing deadlines.
Highly desirable:
- Experience working within an Agile environment.
- A tertiary qualification or industry certification in a relevant field such as Financial Crime, Information Systems, or Data Science.
This is a permanent full-time position that can be located in Melbourne, Bendigo, Adelaide, Sydney, or Brisbane.
