We have an opportunity for a Manager (Assessment) in either Emerald or Brisbane within the Environmental Services and Regulation (ESR) division of the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation. The division provides targeted, consistent and transparent regulation that facilitates sustainable development in Queensland. ESR proactively manages and monitors environmental risks through a modern and innovative regulatory framework that includes assessment, compliance, investigation and enforcement programs.
ESR also provides extensive frontline services both centrally and regionally.

You'll have the following work skills and experience (which define what you can contribute professionally):
- Have proven experience to successfully lead a team and achieve operational deliverables in a regulatory service delivery environment
- Have proven ability to communicate with influence to:
- motivate and engage staff
- lead negotiations to resolve complex and contentious matters and
- manage stakeholders
- Have an understanding of, or the ability to rapidly acquire the knowledge of, contemporary environmental and regulatory legislation, management trends, drivers and approaches.
