Hope & Glory is delighted to be assisting our client with the appointment of a Marketing Manager – a broad, hands-on role for a marketer who can combine good ideas and commercial thinking with the ability to execute.
This is a terrific opportunity for an experienced campaign marketer who enjoys owning work from concept through to delivery, measuring the results and continually looking for ways to improve performance.
About the organisation
Our client is an established Australian digital publishing business with a portfolio of well-regarded publications and a growing range of digital products, events and commercial offerings.
It is an evolving, ideas-driven organisation where quality content matters and marketing plays an important role in growing audiences, subscriptions and reader revenue. The environment is collaborative and flexible, with people encouraged to think deeply, contribute ideas and take genuine ownership of their work.
The opportunity
Reporting to a senior marketing leader, you’ll take responsibility for end-to-end marketing campaigns designed to grow audiences, acquire and retain subscribers and support the organisation’s broader commercial objectives.
This is not a role for someone who wants to simply brief agencies or coordinate activity from a distance. You’ll be expected to contribute to campaign strategy and ideation, then roll up your sleeves and make it happen.
The scope includes
- Developing campaign ideas and end-to-end plans across acquisition, conversion and retention
- Writing campaign copy and managing activity across email, paid social and other digital channels
- Setting up, managing and optimising paid advertising campaigns
- Establishing meaningful KPIs, monitoring performance and adjusting campaigns in-flight
- Using campaign data and insights to understand what is working and improve future activity
- Briefing creative resources and coordinating campaign delivery across multiple stakeholders
- Supporting the launch and growth of new digital products, events and other commercial initiatives
- Managing multiple campaigns and priorities while keeping stakeholders informed and delivery on track.
You’ll work closely with editorial, commercial, creative and marketing colleagues, so the ability to communicate clearly, contribute constructively and build strong working relationships will matter. This is a permanent full time role offering a salary of up to $110K superannuation. Melbourne is the preferred location, with hybrid and flexible working arrangements available (at the employer's discretion).
About you
You’re an experienced, digitally capable marketer who is equally comfortable discussing what a campaign should do and getting into the detail required to deliver it.
Importantly, you’re genuinely hands-on. You understand how digital campaigns work because you’ve personally built, managed, measured and improved them.
You bring
- Strong end-to-end campaign management experience across digital channels
- Hands-on capability in paid social, email marketing and campaign optimisation
- Excellent copywriting and written communication skills
- A data-driven approach and the ability to talk confidently about campaign metrics, performance and outcomes
- The ability to turn broader strategy into practical campaign ideas and activity
- Solid organisational skills and the capacity to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
- Clear, confident interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across different functions and personalities.
Experience with subscription-based digital products, publishing, media or a comparable digital business would be valuable, but is not essential. Just as importantly, you’ll bring curiosity, sound judgement and initiative. You’ll be someone who asks questions, gets into the detail and looks for better ways to achieve an outcome rather than waiting for a system, agency or someone else to provide the answer.
