Role Description The Mechanical Fitter role at Austwide Cranes is a full-time, on-site position based in Loganholme, QLD. In this role, the Mechanical Fitter will install, assemble, and fit mechanical components and crane systems, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. Daily tasks include diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, conducting inspections, and carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on cranes and associated machinery.

The Mechanical

Fitter will work closely with the service team to complete scheduled maintenance,



respond to breakdowns, and support upgrades or modifications as required. The role also involves maintaining accurate service records, following all safety procedures, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

- Strong mechanical fitting skills, including experience with Fitting and working on heavy Machinery.
- Hands-on experience with Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance for industrial or lifting equipment.
- Competence in Machining and use of workshop tools and equipment for component repair or fabrication.
- Relevant trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent apprenticeship.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and service manuals.
- Solid understanding of workplace health and safety practices, particularly in industrial environments.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Previous experience with cranes, lifting equipment, or similar machinery is highly regarded.
