The Role

We have multiple opportunities that exists for experienced Boilermakers to join the Fixed Underground Assets team at George Fisher Mine in Mount Isa. Reporting to the Fixed Assets Supervisors, you will be required to carry out scheduled maintenance tasks, fabrication and project work, trouble shooting, as well as breakdown repairs. This role offers and excellent work-life balance with a residential roster, based in Mount Isa, working day shift only, 7 days on, 7 days off.. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Active participation in crew deployment meetingsCompleted Work Orders to the required standard & re-order parts or consumablesConformance with the Glencore Corporate Practice & Glencore Code of ConductAssist with updating of Schematics / SWI’s / Procedures / etcInspection of equipment for proper functioning & compliancePerforming planned and shutdown work consistent with the duties of a boilermakerSupporting improvement projects that aim to reduce unplanned stoppagesMaintaining and improving OH&S; and overall operational standards in the workplace.

The successful candidate will possess:

Trade qualified Boilermaker5 years’ experience within the trade (preferred)Experience on material handling (Crushing and conveying systems), hoisting and/or underground pump systems will be advantageousHigh risk work licence, Working at Heights and Confined Space is an advantageOverall Mechanical Aptitude, ability to carry out basic mechanical tasksExcellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skillsFlexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detailGood time management skills and able to work well under pressureDemonstrated ability to work well in a team environmentGood communication skillsWillingness and ability to learn new processesHold a current Australian Manual Drivers LicenceExperience in SAP would be an advantage or similar systems
