The RolePerform maintenance tasks both breakdown and servicing on fixed plant. Assist with the ordering of parts by liaising with local service providers and the Aurelia Metals own store system while ensuring a safe and productive work environment is maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities

- Preventative maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and manuals with a focus on maintaining safety and maximising production
- Resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimise processing/manufacturing interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/failures
- Maintain cleanliness of shops and work areas
- To be a part of the callout teams
- Maintain cost focus and reduce wastage of materials
- Provide input into planned maintenance tasks
- Assist in development of safe work procedures and JSA’s
- Work as an effective member of the Maintenance team, including contributing to a positive team environment and supporting the training and development of apprentices.

About You
- Mechanical Trade Certificate
- Current NSW ‘C’ class licence or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience utilising trade qualifications in a mining environment
- Developed interpersonal skills and strong customer focus
- Ability to communicate with all levels across operation and external parties
- Demonstrated experience in fixed plant assets, including mill processing plant and equipment and associated components
- Ability to monitor and maintain fixed plant equipment costs
- Demonstrated ability to ensure safety of maintenance personnel associated with fixed plant equipment maintenance.

About the role

We’re seeking a trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker to join our Maintenance team, responsible of all underground fixed plant and associated infrastructure.

You’ll be responsible for the maintenance, breakdown response and improvement works across underground fixed plant, including shafts, conveyor systems, pumps, crushers, ventilation fans, generators and services (air and water lines).

This role suits a hands-on tradesperson who takes pride in reliable plant, works safely, and enjoys owning their area while contributing ideas to improve equipment performance and uptime.

Roster: 7/7, 12 hours per day (Dayshift only)

Location: Peak Mine, Cobar NSW

Qualifications and experience

- Prior experience in a similar role
- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker
- Current Australian manual driver’s licence
- Safety-focused with experience working on fixed plant equipment
- Competent level of experience using maintenance and reporting system
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
