Tyre Tread (Capital Special Repairs Pty Ltd) is seeking a qualified and dependable Motor Mechanic to join our workshop team. The successful applicant will carry out servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs, while also supporting tyre and wheel services. This is a hands-on role for a mechanic who can work safely, accurately and independently

Key responsibilities

- Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and vehicle safety inspections.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and computer scan systems, including fault-code identification and special functions.
- Repair and replace components associated with engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, braking and cooling systems.
- Fit and change tyres; perform wheel balancing, puncture repairs, wheel rotations and related tyre services.
- Carry out wheel alignments where required.
- Test-drive vehicles when necessary to identify faults and verify completed repairs.
- Complete job cards and maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop and comply with all work health and safety procedures.

Skills and experience
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or a closely related motor mechanic qualification)



and relevant practical experience over 24 months
- Certificate IV or equivalent advanced automotive qualification is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and use automotive scan tools confidently.
- Sound experience in vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs and tyre fitting/balancing; wheel-alignment experience is preferred.
- A current, unrestricted Australian driver's licence.
- Robust work ethic, punctuality and professional conduct.
- Ability to organise work, solve problems and perform efficiently with limited supervision.
- Australian work rights are welcomed; applications will be assessed on skills, qualifications and experience.
