The Opportunity

A well-established, purpose-driven organisation is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join its finance team. Reporting closely to the Finance Manager and CFO, this is a hands-on role with exposure across financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, payroll and finance systems.

The role would suit an Assistant Accountant with 1-3+ years' experience who enjoys a broad role and is looking to further develop their technical accounting and commercial finance skills within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with month-end close, journals, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processes.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including coding, cost centre allocations and resolution of discrepancies.
- Prepare and assist with budget-to-actual and forecast variance analysis.
- Oversee accounting and month-end activities for allocated programs or entities.




- Assist with tax preparation and statutory lodgements.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and efficiencies.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external system providers to resolve issues and improve processes.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

- 1-4 years in a comparable role with exposure to GL accounting / month-end work
- Part or complete CA/CPA qualifications
- Experience across month-end, year-end and audit processes.
- Exposure to payroll and statutory compliance
- Solid Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
