National Business Manager – Independents, Convenience, Costco & Alternate Channels

Location: Norwest Business Park, Bella Vista NSW (2 minute walk to Bella Vista Metro Station)

Employment Type: Full-time, In office

Salary: Competitive Salary + Bonus + Superannuation + Expenses

Most National Business Manager roles give you one channel and three layers of sign-off. This one gives you five channels and a seat at the table where the decisions actually get made.

Healthier Tastier Foods (HTF) is an Australian food and beverage business that has grown fast by doing one thing better than our competitors: getting genuinely good, on-trend products onto shelf while everyone else is still workshopping them. Our brands such as Coco Earth, Frisp and Coco Health are ranged with major retailers across multiple categories, and we are still only part-way through what these brands can do.

We are a small, ambitious team. We are not corporate. There are no committees, no reporting layers, and no eighteen-month innovation pipelines. If you have an idea on Monday and it is a good one,

it can be in front of a buyer inside the month. That is the whole reason we win, and it is the reason this role is worth your attention.

The opportunityReporting to the Head of Sales, you will own our growth across Metcash and the independents, Petrol & Convenience, Costco, and our alternative channels such as foodservice, vending, distributors, wholesale and export.

Some of these channels are established and need a real operator to take them up a level. Others Costco, foodservice and export in particular are close to open ground. What happens in them over the next three years will largely be whatever you decide to make happen.

This is not a role where you inherit a plan and administer it. You will write the plan, you will sell it internally in about ten minutes, and then you will go and land it.

What's in it for you

- A package that rewards results, not tenure. Attractive base plus a performance bonus tied to the channels you personally control — you grow them, you share in it.
- Decisions in days, not quarters. You will sit metres from the people who approve pricing, promotions, NPD and investment. Bring the case, get the answer, move.
- Real ownership. These channels become yours. Not "supported by," not "in partnership with" yours, with the authority to match.
- A business that is going somewhere. We are growing, we are launching, and the roles ahead of you are being created faster than we can fill them.

Build these channels and the team and scope grow around you.

- Brands you will not have to apologise for. Health-focused, on-trend, and genuinely well made. Sampling them at a trade show is not a chore.
- A team that actually likes each other. Small, direct, no politics, and we have a good time doing it.

What you will be doingGrowing the channels. Building and executing a tailored plan for each deeper penetration where we already are, and new distribution where we are not.

Winning new listings, expanding ranging in existing accounts, onboarding new retail and distribution partners, and leading our presence at key trade shows.

Owning the relationships. Becoming the person our Metcash, Costco, convenience, distributor and foodservice partners call first. Running range reviews, joint planning sessions and performance conversations that both sides actually want to be in.

Driving the commercials. Leading negotiations on pricing, terms, promotional mechanics and trading agreements. Building the proposals and presentations that win the range. Managing your channel P&L;, promotional investment and forecast accuracy like it is your own money because in a business this size, it effectively is.

Reading the market. Watching competitors, categories and emerging opportunities here and offshore, and bringing back the ideas that turn into our next launch.

Working across the business. With Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and our Crossmark field team to make sure what you sell in actually gets executed in store.

Who we are looking forYou have carried a national number in FMCG e.g. ideally food, beverage or health and wellness across independents, convenience, Costco, wholesale, foodservice or export. Two or three of those is ideal. All of them is unheard of, and we are not expecting it.

You know how a Metcash range review really works, and you have come out of one with more SKUs than you went in with. You can build a promotional P&L; and defend it. You can negotiate hard and still be welcome in the room next quarter. You are as comfortable in a distributor's warehouse as in a buyer's boardroom.

You are commercially sharp, genuinely self-sufficient, and you would rather build something than maintain it. You are the kind of person who sees whitespace and gets irritated that nobody has taken it yet.

You have brought new products to market and you understand what it takes from concept through to first order.

And you want to be somewhere your work is visible. In a business our size, there is nowhere for a good result to hide, and nowhere for a bad one either. Most people find that liberating. Some do not. You will know which you are.
