Rapley’s Nursery is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Nursery Sales Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis while we cover maternity leave.
This is a part time position for approximately 4–6 months, commencing at 3 days per week, plus 1 day every second weekend (Mon, Tue, Wed and Sun), with the potential for additional hours as required and a more permanent position for the right person.
Expected start date: September/October 2026
About the Role
Working in our family-owned nursery, you’ll be involved in a variety of day-to-day nursery and customer service tasks, including:
- Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service
- Assisting customers with plant selections and general enquiries
- Watering, weeding, potting and general plant maintenance
- Preparing plants for sale
- Maintaining healthy, tidy plant displays
- Receiving and putting away plant deliveries
- Preparing and putting together customer orders
- Assisting with other tasks around the nursery as required
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about plants and/or gardening – this is a must
• Available to work the days listed above – this is a must
- Friendly, approachable and confident speaking with customers
- Reliable and willing to get stuck in
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
- Physically capable of working outdoors and performing manual tasks
- MR licence or higher is desirable, but not essential
