Position: Cafe / Restaurant Manager

Salary: $79,000 - $85,000 per annum plus 12% Superannuation

Hours: 38 hours per week

Rosemary by Eighty Twenty is a welcoming café in Kingston, offering fresh food, quality coffee, and a relaxed dining experience. The Kingston venue operates throughout the week and caters to local customers with dine-in and takeaway services, including options for customers with special dietary requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cafe / Restaurant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Kingston café. The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating staff, maintaining service and food standards, managing stock and suppliers, and ensuring customers receive a consistently positive dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the daily operations of the café, including front-of-house and kitchen coordination.
- Work with the kitchen team to maintain menu quality, presentation, and appropriate portion standards.
- Coordinate purchasing, stock levels, supplier orders, and pricing in line with business requirements.
- Monitor daily sales, expenses, stock records,



and other operational transactions.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and roster café staff to ensure adequate coverage and efficient service.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented dining and work environment in accordance with food safety and workplace requirements.
- Monitor customer feedback and resolve service concerns professionally to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Assist with functions, bookings, reservations, and special dining requirements where required.
- Support the business in maintaining efficient service, controlling costs, and achieving operational targets.

Qualifications

- Tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field is highly desirable.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality management role.

Skills & Other Requirements

- Strong knowledge of food service and café operations.
- Experience supervising and coordinating hospitality staff.
- Good understanding of stock control, purchasing, and cost management.
- Robust customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a busy service environment and resolve issues effectively.
- Food safety knowledge and relevant hospitality certifications are desirable.
