The opportunity: Trade & Specification Manager — A&D; Partnerships

Location: Brisbane, Queensland
Hours: Full-time (part-time opportunities will be considered)
Remuneration: $105,000–$135,000 FTE plus commission, depending on experience
Start: September 2026

M&E; Interiors is a design-led furniture studio based in Brisbane representing distinctive international makers alongside our own emerging collection.

We are looking for a Trade & Specification Manager to develop meaningful relationships with Brisbane’s architecture and design community. You may already work in furniture sales, or you may be an interior designer, specification consultant or showroom professional ready to take your design knowledge into a more commercially influential role.

This is a newly created role with genuine influence, supported by hands‑on founder involvement, established client relationships, marketing activity and operational support. You’ll represent respected European makers including WOUD and Billiani, alongside Australian brands and our own Marami collection.

The role

You will be responsible for developing the trade and specification channel, from identifying opportunities through to specification, quotation and sale.

You will:

- Identify, build and nurture relationships with interior designers, architects and design practices, getting involved early enough to influence the FF&E; schedule rather than simply responding to it.
- Develop project opportunities across workplace, hospitality, multi-residential and other commercial interiors.
- Open and service selected independent retail and trade accounts across Queensland, and interstate where there is a solid strategic fit.
- Present our international, Australian and proprietary collections to designers and specifiers, matching products, materials and finishes to genuine project requirements.
- Develop opportunities from initial conversation through specification, samples and presentations to quotation, negotiation and order.




- Build our presence within Brisbane and Queensland's architecture and design community through events, launches, presentations and showroom activations.
- Maintain a clear pipeline, client records and sales forecast that allows us to make informed decisions about stock, marketing and future investment.
- Feed intelligence from the market back into the business: what designers are looking for, what is being specified, what we are losing and why, and what we should consider stocking, representing or designing next.

What we're looking for

You may already be working in furniture, interiors or architectural products, or you may come from an adjacent commercial role with strong relationships in the design and property sectors.

What matters is that you understand how relationships become specifications and specifications become projects.

Key attributes you will bring:

- Experience in furniture, interior design, specification, architectural products, business development, trade sales or account management. We are open to candidates bringing strong design‑industry knowledge and transferable commercial capability rather than a conventional sales background.
- Existing relationships within Brisbane’s architecture and design community would be valuable, but they are not essential if you understand the market and can demonstrate how you would build them.
- A working understanding of the design and construction process and where furniture specification decisions sit within a project.
- Commercial confidence to initiate relationships and the ability to move between design conversations, pricing, negotiation and securing commitment.
- Strong product literacy and the ability to talk credibly about furniture, materials,



finishes and applications with people who know the difference.
- The ability to work independently while knowing when to draw on the broader team.
- An interest in design that goes beyond seeing furniture simply as a product category.

You will be representing furniture that other people have spent years designing and making, including furniture we have designed ourselves. We care about how that work is represented.

This role will suit someone who wants to build something and be visibly responsible for its success.
