Highlights
- A fully remote role with a small, close-knit team and genuine flexibility.
- The engine-room seat behind a global event: 3,000+ walkers across 30-plus locations in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe and South Africa.
- Hands-on systems management, process development, operational management and administrative support to the Global Lead.
- Real purpose: everything you keep running helps get men talking about their mental health.
The company you'll join
- This is a registered Australian charity focused on men's mental health and suicide prevention, running events that bring blokes together and fund direct support projects.
- It was founded by three co-founders - brothers and mates - after losing their brother and best mate to suicide in 2021.
- What began as a 25km walk with four mates has become their flagship annual event: this year, more than 3,000 men walked across 30-plus locations spanning Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe and South Africa.
- Every location is led by a volunteer walk leader, and new locations keep putting their hands up - the next challenge isn't finding growth, it's keeping up with it.
- Beyond the flagship walk, they run corporate challenges, a speaking tour and local community events, and fund four ongoing projects - including one that pays for psychologist sessions for blokes who can't otherwise afford them.
- The team is fully remote, spread along the east coast, and genuinely close-knit: everyone owns a clear stream, but streams define ownership, not walls.
- The event has now grown past what one set of hands can run, so a dedicated Operations & Systems Specialist seat has been created to own the machinery underneath it.
- You'll be joining a lean, ambitious team with reliable momentum behind it, a Global Lead who'll back you, and a cause that makes the work matter.
The impact you'll make
- You'll own council permits and venue bookings across the entire event, and you'll be encouraged to find smarter ways to do it, from route changes to venue partnerships that cut the permit load.
- You'll be the single point of contact for suppliers - signage, merchandise, print, venues and medics - managing quotes, orders, logistics and deadlines so everything lands on time, on budget.
- You'll administer the platforms the event runs on: Asana kept current, event pages and registrations live for every location in Funraisin, and the CRM (ActiveCampaign) clean with its automations running as designed.
- You'll support the volunteer walk leaders across 30-plus locations as a reliable point of contact, and handle walker registrations and enquiries so people get quick, clear answers.
- The rhythm follows the event calendar: steady through the middle of the year, building through summer, and peaking into March, with some evening and weekend work around event day.
- Fully remote, reporting to the Sydney Northern Beaches-based Global Lead.
The experience you'll bring
- At least 2-3 years in a hands-on coordinator, events or operations role where you've had to juggle multiple moving parts and get things done.
- Genuine systems savvy: CRM or fundraising platform experience is a big plus, but what matters most is a proven ability to pick up new platforms quickly and make them work properly - including AI tools.
- Highly organised and process-driven: you run your work off a plan, not your inbox, and your attention to detail is exceptional where it matters most - approvals, orders, dates and data.
- A self-sufficient, logical problem solver: you work out who to speak to and how to get something implemented, rather than waiting to be assigned the next task.
- A clear, friendly communicator with councils, suppliers and volunteers alike, comfortable running a meeting of volunteer leaders on your own.
- You bring care, discretion and sound judgement to a mental health context - people's stories can get heavy at times - and a genuine passion for the cause will take you a long way here.
- On offer: a competitive salary with not-for-profit salary packaging benefits, full remote flexibility, and a team that walks the talk on work-life balance.
