About the role
Working as part of our educator team, you will help create a safe, welcoming and engaging environment where school-age children can relax, play, build friendships and make meaningful choices.
Key responsibilities
- Actively supervising children and maintaining their safety and wellbeing.
- Building respectful, positive relationships with children and families.
- Planning and delivering child-led play, leisure and recreational experiences.
- Encouraging children's voice, independence, inclusion and participation.
- Using positive, respectful approaches to behaviour guidance and conflict resolution.
- Supporting children with additional needs, medical requirements or individual support plans.
- Assisting with arrivals, departures, attendance checks, transitions and school collection where applicable.
- Preparing and serving food in accordance with hygiene, allergy and dietary requirements.
- Setting up, packing away and maintaining clean, secure and inviting environments.
- Completing required records, including program reflections,
incident documentation and safety checks.
About you
- Dependable and punctual, particularly for time-critical OSHC shifts.
- Engaged and attentive when supervising children.
- Calm, patient and confident setting appropriate boundaries.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional when communicating with families, colleagues and the school community.
- Respectful of privacy, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Willing to receive feedback, reflect on their practice and continue learning.
- A current Queensland Blue Card or exemption card, with eligibility to be linked to our organisation before commencing.
- Completion of required child-safety and child-protection training, or willingness to complete it before commencing.
- Current approved first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and emergency asthma training, or willingness to obtain these before commencement.
