Dysart Hospital in Queensland is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join its Emergency Department on a contract basis. This is a five-week placement running from 31 August to 4 October 2026, offering the prospect to work in a rural nursing environment where clinical skills and leadership are highly valued. The role is graded RN Grade 5, with a salary range of AUD$55.65 to AUD$70.82 per hour, and involves rotating 8 and 12-hour shifts with a maximum of 80 hours per fortnight.

- Lead and manage the Emergency Department, potentially as the sole RN on shift
- AUD$55.65 to AUD$70.82 per hour, with overtime available beyond 80 hours per fortnight
- Five-week contract with two placement opportunities, rotating shifts in a rural healthcare setting

Preferred Requirements





- Demonstrated rural nursing and emergency department experience
- Competence in triage and resuscitation protocols
- Ability to team lead and manage ward operations, including solo shift management
- Proficiency with QLD ieMR, FirstNet, PowerChart, and HBCIS systems
- Own vehicle highly recommended due to the remote location of the facility

Preferred Qualifications

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Previous experience with Queensland Health or Mackay Health and Hospital Service
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification or equivalent emergency nursing qualification
