Payroll Officer | Full-Time, On-Site | Dandenong South | Up to $110K + Bonus + Super
About the role
As Payroll Officer, you'll sit at the centre of a household Australian manufacturing business: trusted to run payroll accurately, on time, every time, and to be the person the wider team turns to when something doesn't add up. You'll take full ownership of end-to-end payroll across weekly (AU) and monthly (AU & NZ) cycles — timesheets, approvals, tax, super, GL reconciliation, and everything in between. You'll be the go-to for payroll queries, the one liaising with the ATO and Centrelink when needed, and a key support to the Chief of Staff and People & Culture team more broadly — from employee records to reports, letters, and the occasional contract or policy fact sheet.
Key responsibilities
- Run payroll accurately and on time for weekly (AU) and monthly (AU & NZ) cycles
- Process timesheets, approvals, tax, super, and GL reconciliation
- Handle end-to-end payroll administration
- Respond to payroll queries from the wider team
- Liaise with the ATO and Centrelink when needed
- Support the Chief of Staff and People & Culture team with employee records, reports, letters, and policy documentation
About you
- 4+ years' end-to-end payroll and administration experience
- Solid working knowledge of AU (NZ highly regarded) payroll legislation — tax, super, long service leave and Contemporary Award interpretation
- Comfort with HRIS and time & attendance systems (UKG or Payroll Metrics experience a bonus)
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills
- A sharp eye for detail, a cool head under deadline pressure, and the discretion to handle sensitive information with total confidentiality
About us This is a business that's been getting it right for the better part of a century — Australian owned, still growing, still investing in its people. A People & Culture team that actually backs its payroll function.
