Sydney | Hybrid – 3 days in the office

$140,000–$160,000 base + super + bonus

Join a major Australian financial-services organisation and help deliver large-scale transformation projects within its Cash and Transactional Banking technology team. You’ll work in a fast-paced Agile environment, developing secure and scalable backend services that support critical banking platforms.

What you’ll be doing

- Designing, developing and maintaining Java-based backend applications
- Building secure RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot
- Contributing to technical design and solving complex engineering problems
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
- Collaborating with engineers, business teams and delivery partners
- Contributing to major banking transformation programs
- Providing occasional support across the frontend where required

What we’re looking for





- Commercial experience with Java, Spring Boot and RESTful APIs
- Solid understanding of API design principles and industry standards
- Experience implementing secure APIs using OAuth and JWT
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo and Bitbucket
- Strong analytical, design and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience working in an Agile engineering environment
- Knowledge of J2EE or Struts would be beneficial
- React experience is advantageous but not essential
