The role

As a prison officer, you play a crucial part in a person’s rehabilitation journey and ensure the safety and security of the facility.

Prison officers supervise daily activities, support positive behaviour, and respond to incidents to ensure the protected operation of the prison.

You will be challenged, but your resilience and dedication will help you thrive.

We’re seeking good communicators who approach each day with a positive mindset and a belief that people have the capacity to change.

There are no specific professional background or qualifications needed for the role. It’s your life experience that counts in this job.

- Earn up to $93,938 with a base salary of $65,373 plus penalty rates and overtime

New prison officers are now eligible for a bonus of up to $8,000. Six months after commencing, you will receive a payment of $4,000. You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold Australian permanent residency. You also need to hold an Australian driver’s licence (minimum P2).
