Flourish Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Peer Worker to join our Hervey Bay team.

The position available is

- Part-time (60.8 hours per fortnight)
- Working a rotating roster including weekdays, weekends and afternoon shifts
- Working in your local community in Hervey Bay
- Attractive hourly rates equivalent to $40.49 - $43.42/hour + Super + Salary Packaging

About the Opportunity

As a Peer Worker, you'll use your lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery to inspire hope, build meaningful connections, and support people to achieve their personal recovery goals.

Working alongside people accessing our services, you'll draw on your lived experience expertise to create trusting relationships built on empathy, mutual understanding, respect, and hope. Through authentic connection, you'll encourage people to recognise their strengths, explore new possibilities, and take positive steps towards living the life they choose.

Day to day activities can vary across our Peer Operated Service and NDIS community access supports. Tasks include developing and facilitating capacity building groups, scheduling one to one peer support appointments to work on individual goals and supporting people in the drop-in centre. NDIS supports are provided in the community to help people work towards their NDIS goals.

Successful applicants must be able to commit to a rotating roster Monday-Sunday with shift times from 8:30-4:36 and 11:54-20:00.

About You

You are passionate about supporting people on their recovery journey and believe in the value of lived experience. You bring a recovery-oriented mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to creating inclusive, person-centred outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A Certificate IV or higher qualification in a relevant field, or a minimum of two years’ full-time experience in the human services sector. Relevant qualifications in the areas of Mental Health, Peer Work, Social Work, Community Services or Psychology.
- Personal lived experience of a mental health challenge and recovery.
- The ability to draw on your lived experience in a safe, respectful, and purposeful way to inspire hope and support others.
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence.
