About the Opportunity
We're currently recruiting two fixed-term People and Wellbeing Business Partner positions to provide parental leave cover, with opportunities available for 12 months and 18 months.
As a People and Wellbeing Business Partner, you will work closely with leaders across a dedicated portfolio to drive organisational performance through strategic and operational people solutions. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will provide expert guidance across the employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, employee relations, organisational change, and wellbeing initiatives.
This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on support, requiring the ability to translate University priorities into practical people outcomes. You will partner with leaders to build capability, foster a positive and high-performing culture, and navigate complex people matters with confidence and professionalism.
Working collaboratively within the broader People and Wellbeing team, you will bring a people-centred approach, strong relationship-building skills, and a passion for creating positive workplace experiences that support both our people and the University's success.
What’s Required
- Professional HR experience in large and/or complex organisations, or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian employment and industrial relations legislation, including experience applying and advising leaders on enterprise agreements and HR policy frameworks.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with leaders at multiple levels.
- Ability to see through the eyes of a people manager and understand their strategic priorities at a high level to ensure appropriate advice and counsel is provided.
- Experience working collaboratively with specialist teams across an organisation or HR function to deliver integrated people solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to coach leaders and build leadership capability in people management practices.
- Ability to analyse workforce data and insights to inform strategic decision-making and workforce initiatives.
- Demonstrated solid problem-solving, judgement, and risk management capability, particularly in addressing complex or sensitive people matters.
- [Desirable] Experience working within higher education sector.
Qualifications and Licences
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business,
or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
What’s on Offer?
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,943 comprising base salary within the range of $101,821 to $111,917 plus 17% superannuation.
