A unique opportunity has become available for an experienced Performance & Reporting Analyst to join a growing Corporate Services team within an esteemed North Shore-based local council.
This is not a traditional reporting role. You'll be joining the team at a pivotal time as it undergoes significant transformation following a recent service review. With a substantial program of improvement initiatives about to commence, you'll play a hands-on role in helping to establish governance frameworks, improve reporting capability, enhance organisational performance visibility and support the implementation of key recommendations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who enjoys bringing structure to ambiguity, improving processes, and helping build a high-performing function from the ground up.
Your new role
Working closely with senior stakeholders within a small, collaborative team, you will support the development of a newly established Performance & Reporting function responsible for overseeing organisational performance, strategic reporting, governance and project portfolio visibility across Council.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Establishing and improving performance reporting frameworks, templates and governance processes.
- Preparing dashboards, scorecards, executive reports and performance updates.
- Coordinating governance forums, meeting papers, action registers and stakeholder communications.
- Monitoring organisational and project portfolio performance against strategic and operational goals.
- Identifying delivery risks, performance gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Assisting with the implementation of recommendations arising from a recent organisational review.
- Supporting the development of reporting tools, artefacts and processes that improve visibility and accountability across the organisation.
- Working with stakeholders to gather, analyse and translate data into meaningful insights for executive decision-making.
- Helping establish a sustainable reporting and governance framework as the team evolves.
Importantly, this role is focused on performance oversight, governance and reporting, rather than project delivery. You will monitor and report on project and organisational performance, identify risks and escalate issues where required, rather than manage project delivery directly.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you will bring experience from environments such as PMO, project coordination, governance, business analysis, organisational performance, corporate planning or reporting.
You will demonstrate
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Experience developing dashboards, scorecards,
reporting frameworks or governance processes.
- Ability to interpret complex information and translate it into clear business insights.
- Experience supporting governance forums, committees, action tracking or executive reporting.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work in an evolving environment.
- High levels of organisation, initiative and self-sufficiency.
Experience with Microsoft 365 reporting tools, Power BI or TechOne will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Why apply?
This is a rare opportunity to join a function at the beginning of its transformation journey. You'll have the chance to make a tangible impact, shape new ways of working and contribute to business-critical initiatives that directly influence organisational performance and strategic decision-making.
The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys creating order, improving processes and helping teams move from concept to implementation.
What you'll get in return
- $70-$75 per hour plus super.
- 37.5-hour working week.
- Hybrid working arrangement with 2 days working from home.
- Flexible start and finish times.
- Immediate start available.
- Initial 8-12 week contract with solid potential for extension.
