Role Description This part-time Personal Care Assistant role is an in office position located in the Greater Melbourne Area.

The Personal Care

Assistant will support residents with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, mobility assistance, and mealtime support in a respectful and dignified manner. The role involves monitoring residents’ wellbeing, reporting any changes to nursing or supervisory staff, and following individual care plans.

contribute to social and lifestyle activities, and promote resident independence wherever possible. The position requires effective collaboration with colleagues, clear communication with residents and families, and adherence to organisational policies, clinical guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated competence in PCA duties and personal care services, including assistance with hygiene, mobility, and daily living tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build respectful, supportive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Understanding of person-centred care principles and commitment to maintaining dignity, privacy, and choice for older people.
- Relevant qualification such as Certificate III in Individual Support (Aging) or equivalent, and eligibility to work in aged care in Australia.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, follow care plans and instructions, and respond calmly and safely in challenging situations.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation and care reporting; experience in residential aged care or similar setting is highly regarded.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training, uphold infection prevention and safety standards, and align with Doutta Galla’s values of inclusiveness and high-quality care.
