Position Description — Pharmacist

Organisation: Greenease Clinic & Dispensaries

Primary Location: Drewvale, QLD

Secondary Locations: Capalaba and Brendale (relief and support as required)

Employment Type: [Full-time / Part-time — to be confirmed]

Reports To: Co-Directors (Pharmacist Director and Clinical Operations Director), with day-to-day coordination through the Clinic Manager

Direct Reports: Dispensary technicians and support staff on shift

About Greenease

Greenease Clinic & Dispensaries is a Queensland-based, vertically integrated clinic and dispensary group operating across three Brisbane locations — Drewvale, Capalaba, and Brendale — supported by Queensland-wide telehealth services. Greenease was named Dispensary/Pharmacy of the Year at the 2026 Cannabiz Awards and is recognised for its integrated model combining telehealth prescribers, pharmacist-led dispensing, and a proprietary technology stack.

Position Purpose The Pharmacist is responsible for the safe, accurate, and compliant dispensing of medicines and delivery of professional pharmacy services at the Drewvale site, while providing relief coverage and operational support across the Capalaba and Brendale sites as rostered or required. The role works closely with Greenease's virtually located prescribers, nursing staff, and dispensary technicians to deliver a high standard of patient care within Greenease's clinical governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

Dispensing & Clinical Practice

- Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently, including medicines supplied under Special Access Scheme (SAS) and Authorised Prescriber (AP) pathways, in accordance with TGA requirements and Queensland legislation.
- Conduct clinical review of all prescriptions, including dose appropriateness, interactions, contraindications, and therapeutic duplication, liaising remotely with the prescriber where escalation is required.
- Provide patient counselling on safe and effective medicine use, storage, driving and safety considerations, and adverse effect management, tailored to each patient's needs.
- Maintain full compliance with Schedule 8 (Controlled Drugs) requirements under the Medicines and Poisons Act 2019 (Qld) and Medicines and Poisons (Medicines) Regulation 2021, including storage, recording, balance checks, and reporting obligations.




- Ensure accurate and timely recording in QScript / real-time prescription monitoring as required.
- Support Full Scope of Practice pharmacy services where credentialed and applicable.

Compliance & Quality

- Adhere strictly to Greenease's clinical governance framework, SOPs, and directions from the Clinical Governance Lead.
- Maintain compliance with TGA advertising and communication requirements in all patient-facing and public-facing conduct; refer any marketing, content, or communications queries to senior staff
- Participate in audits, incident reporting, near-miss reviews, and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Maintain cold chain integrity and correct storage conditions across all stock categories.

Operations & Inventory

- Manage dispensary inventory at the primary site, including ordering, receipting, stock rotation, expiry management, and returns, using Greenease's dispensing and inventory systems (including Z Dispense).
- Support fulfilment of telehealth patient orders, including checking, packing oversight, and dispatch procedures in line with SOPs.
- Respond to patient and prescriber enquiries through Greenease's proprietary ticketing and workflow system within agreed service timeframes.
- Supervise and support dispensary technicians and assistants on shift, including workflow allocation and training support.

Multi-Site Relief & Support

- Provide planned and short-notice relief pharmacist coverage at Capalaba and Brendale as rostered.
- Maintain familiarity with site-specific workflows, stock profiles, and staff at all three locations to ensure seamless coverage.
- Assist with cross-site projects and initiatives as directed, including stocktakes, system rollouts, and process improvements.

Teamwork & Communication

- Work collaboratively with Greenease's telehealth prescribers, nursing staff, clinic administration, and management, primarily via digital communication channels.




- Communicate professionally with patients, carers, suppliers, and external healthcare providers.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive, patient-first workplace culture.

Selection Criteria

Essential

- Current general registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA, with no conditions or undertakings affecting practice.
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
- Sound working knowledge of Queensland medicines and poisons legislation, particularly Schedule 8 handling and record-keeping obligations.
- Demonstrated dispensing accuracy, clinical judgement, and patient counselling skills.
- Confident communicating and coordinating with prescribers remotely via digital platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance.
- Ability to travel between Drewvale, Capalaba, and Brendale sites as required (current driver's licence and reliable transport).

Desirable

- Experience dispensing medicines supplied via SAS and Authorised Prescriber pathways.
- Experience in a clinic-integrated, telehealth-supported, or high-volume dispensary environment.
- Familiarity with dispensing software and digital workflow/ticketing systems.
- Queensland Full Scope of Practice credentials (For future role growth).
- Experience supervising dispensary technicians or junior staff.

Key Working Relationships

- Internal: Co-Directors, Clinic Manager, Clinical Governance Lead, telehealth prescribers, nursing staff, dispensary technicians, site teams at Capalaba and Brendale.
- External: Patients and carers, suppliers and wholesalers, regulatory bodies (TGA, Queensland Health), and external healthcare providers.

Performance Indicators

- Dispensing accuracy and incident/near-miss rates.
- Compliance with S8 record-keeping and audit outcomes.
- Ticket response and resolution timeframes.
- Inventory accuracy, expiry management, and stock-loss outcomes.
- Reliability and flexibility of cross-site coverage.
- Patient feedback and qualified conduct.

Other Requirements

- Rostered hours may include weekends and extended trading hours across sites.
- Compliance with all Greenease policies, procedures, and confidentiality obligations.
- Participation in ongoing CPD in line with Pharmacy Board of Australia requirements.
