Role Description The Philanthropy Manager is a full-time role based in Redfern, NSW with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. The role is responsible for developing and implementing philanthropy strategies to grow income from major donors, annual giving programs, and charitable partnerships. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and cultivating prospective donors for Odyssey's capital campaign, managing donor relationships, preparing proposals, impact reports, and stewardship communications, and coordinating donor events and engagement activities.
The Philanthropy
Manager will collaborate with program and communications teams to align fundraising messages with organisational priorities, ensure accurate donor records, and monitor performance against revenue targets. The role also involves contributing to budgeting and forecasting, maintaining ethical fundraising practices, and representing Odyssey House NSW in external meetings and presentations.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in philanthropy and fundraising, including working with major donors and individual giving programs.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with philanthropists, corporate partners, and philanthropic foundations.
- Excellent communication skills, including written proposals, presentations, and donor stewardship materials.
- Proven track record in developing and executing strategic fundraising plans and achieving revenue targets.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in fundraising, non-profit management, business, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Solid organisational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High level of integrity, commitment to ethical fundraising standards, and alignment with Odyssey House NSW’s purpose and values.
- Experience in the health, community services, or addiction support sector is desirable.
