Nominated Supervisor / Centre Manager

About the Role
As the Nominated Supervisor / Centre Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management and smooth operation of the service.
You will provide educational and operational leadership, support educators to deliver high quality programs, maintain regulatory compliance and ensure the safety, wellbeing and best interests of children remain at the centre of all decisions.
You will formally accept the role of Nominated Supervisor and work closely with the Approved Provider to ensure the service operates in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and relevant NSW requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Accept and fulfil the responsibilities of the Nominated Supervisor under the National Law and Regulations.
- Lead the daily operations of the 73 place long day care service.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with the National Law and Regulations, NQF, NQS and NSW regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a strong culture of child safety and ensure child protection obligations are met.
- Lead, mentor and support educators to maintain high standards of skilled practice.
- Support the delivery of high-quality, play-based educational programs aligned with the EYLF.
- Oversee staffing rosters, educator qualifications and ratio requirements.
- Support educator performance, career development and reflective practice.
- Oversee policies, procedures, risk assessments, records and the Quality Improvement Plan.
- Ensure appropriate practices are maintained in relation to child protection, health and safety, emergency management, safe sleep and food safety.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the service.
- Prepare for and confidently lead the service through the Assessment and Rating process.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, educators and the wider community.
- Work collaboratively with the Approved Provider to support the ongoing development and success of the service.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Nominated Supervisor who is professional, organised, approachable and confident in leading an early childhood education and care service.
You will demonstrate:
- A minimum of 1 year experience as a Nominated Supervisor and/or Centre Manager within a NSW ECEC service.
- Demonstrated experience managing the day to day operations of an education and care service.
- Strong knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
- Sound understanding of the NQF, NQS and EYLF.
- Strong knowledge of current NSW child protection and child safety requirements.
- Proven leadership, mentoring and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to build respectful and collaborative relationships with children, families and educators.
- A genuine commitment to high quality early childhood education, child safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or higher (ACECQA-approved)
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or Teaching qualification (or another ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification)
Required Certificates and Training
Applicants must hold current:
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Current Approved Child Protection Training
- Child Safety Training
- Current Approved First Aid qualification, including CPR, Anaphylaxis Management and Emergency Asthma Management Training
- Safe Sleep Training
- Food Safety Training
