About the role

This full-time position is in a pig farming business. Your responsibility will be care and welfare for stock, ensuring their health, safety and productivity.

Key responsibilities

- Feeding and watering pigs according to set schedules and requirements

- Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment in the piggery pens and facilities

- Monitoring pig health and wellbeing, and reporting any issues to the farm manager

- Assisting with breeding, farrowing and other pig husbandry activities as needed

- Operating and maintaining piggery equipment and infrastructure

- Adhering to all workplace health and safety policies and procedures

About you

- Previous experience working in a livestock based role

- Strong animal handling skills and a keen interest in animal welfare

- Ability to work independently and as a team to complete daily tasks

- Good physical fitness to handle the demands of the role

- Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and biosecurity

- Willingness to work flexible schedule, including weekends and public holidays
