Project Ares is a 1GW hyperscale renewable data and energy hub in the Northern Territory, scaling to a potential 5GW , positioned as Australia's answer to the AI infrastructure gap sweeping the Asia Pacific.

PowerCo is the engine room: solar PV, battery storage, gas-fired firming and 132kV transmission, all built behind the meter so the data centre never draws on the public grid. Pre-FEED is complete and FEED is underway, backed by a delivery team with 200 years of combined mega project experience across BHP, Woodside, Chevron, Fortescue and Rio Tinto.

We're not looking for someone to manage a portfolio of contracts from a spreadsheet. We're looking for someone who wants their name on the first-power date.

That said, you won't be doing this alone. You'll work directly alongside the Delivery Manager, the Engineering Lead and the rest of the project leadership team, all of whom have already taken the wider project through FEL 2.

We want delivery leads who have run EPC contracts at this scale before and want to do it again, from the front rather than head office. People who treat a tight commissioning schedule and long-lead equipment risk as the job, not an obstacle to it. adapting when gas supply negotiations or long-lead items shift, and building a delivery organisation that absorbs Early Works cleanly rather than starting again.

What you'll own

- Full PowerCo delivery. Own delivery of the full PowerCo scope: 3,000 MWp solar PV, 1,000 MW/16 GWh BESS, gas generation [Wärtsilä 18V50SG or equivalent] and 132kV transmission infrastructure
- Long-lead equipment & schedule. Manage long-lead equipment procurement and slot reservations [gas engines, GIS switchgear, transformers] to protect the first-power schedule
- Early works integration. Absorb the Rail Access & Siding and Civil, Geotech & Approvals capability into the PowerCo delivery team once early works are complete
- Gas supply & EPC contracts. Coordinate gas supply arrangements [e.g. Santos, Tamboran MoU/GSA negotiations] and lead EPC contractor selection, contract management and performance oversight across the solar/BESS, gas and transmission packages
- Commissioning strategy. Own PowerCo commissioning strategy and sequencing to meet the phased IT load ramp

What you bring

- Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- 15 years delivering large-scale power generation projects [solar, BESS,



thermal/gas generation and transmission], ideally including hybrid renewable-firming projects of comparable scale
- Solid cross-technology delivery experience across solar PV, BESS and reciprocating gas generation, plus MV/HV transmission and switchgear
- Ability to manage long-lead equipment procurement [gas engines, transformers, GIS switchgear] against a tight commissioning schedule
- Commercially astute EPC contract management, balancing cost, schedule and technology risk
- Comfortable absorbing early works capability [rail, civil] into an integrated delivery organisation as the project transitions from early works to main construction
- Based in or willing to relocate to Perth
