As Practice Head, AI Transformation, you'll operate at the intersection of AI strategy, architecture, engineering and business transformation. You'll lead the design and delivery of advanced AI solutions that create sustainable competitive advantage and transform core insurance value chains including underwriting, claims, customer operations and decision-making.

You will act as a recognised technical authority across advanced AI engineering and architecture, influencing major investment decisions while ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, responsible and production-ready. This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) or Meanjin (Brisbane).

What You'll Do

- Provide technical leadership across IAG's most strategic AI transformation initiatives and investment programs.
- Lead the design and review of complex AI, Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions that extend beyond established industry patterns.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, architecture patterns and AI capabilities to determine strategic relevance and business potential.
- Influence enterprise AI platforms, tooling, integration approaches and engineering practices required to support future AI workloads.
- Define practical controls and guardrails required to support safe and responsible AI deployment at scale.
- Act as a recognised enterprise authority on advanced AI systems, AI engineering and agentic architectures.

What You'll Bring
- Deep hands-on expertise in modern AI systems, including machine learning, deep learning, Generative AI and Agentic AI.
- Demonstrated experience designing, building and operationalising enterprise-scale AI solutions in complex environments.




- Expert knowledge of large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), multi-agent systems, orchestration frameworks, tool integration, reasoning systems and memory architectures.
- Strong capability in solution architecture, cloud-native systems, distributed computing and integration design.
- Demonstrated capability embedding controls and governance considerations into solution design and implementation.
- Strong mentoring and capability-building experience across architecture and engineering communities.
