Are you ready to help build something from the ground up?
As Amey Australia continues to grow its Transport Infrastructure capability in Australia, we're looking for three experienced Practice Leads to establish and lead our technical capability in Roads/Civil Design, Structures and Pavements.
Working closely with our Transport Development Director, you'll play a key role in shaping our Brisbane team, building client relationships, growing technical capability and contributing to some of Queensland's most significant transport infrastructure opportunities.
This is an opportunity to step into a genuine leadership role where you'll influence strategy, support major pursuits and help create a high-performing team from the outset
About the role
We're seeking senior technical leaders across three disciplines:
- Practice Lead - Roads/Civil Design
- Practice Lead - Structures
- Practice Lead - Pavements
Reporting to the Transport Development Director, each Practice Lead will be responsible for growing capability within their discipline while supporting project delivery, business development and client engagement activities across Queensland and beyond.
Your focus will include
- Building strong client relationships across transport infrastructure markets.
- Supporting bids, tenders and strategic growth opportunities.
- Providing technical leadership and oversight of project delivery.
- Driving quality, consistency and excellence within your discipline.
- Growing and mentoring a team as the Brisbane capability expands.
- Contributing to major transport programs, including opportunities associated with Queensland's future infrastructure investment.
While there are no direct reports initially,
these roles are expected to evolve into team leadership positions as the business continues to grow.
What we're looking for
Essential
- Significant experience in Roads/Civil Design, Structures or Pavements within a consulting engineering environment.
- Demonstrated experience delivering design projects and being accountable for project outcomes.
- Strong technical expertise within your discipline.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical teams.
- Established knowledge of Queensland transport infrastructure, particularly TMR standards and requirements.
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering and RPEQ accreditation.
- Strong communication skills combined with commercial awareness.
Highly regarded
- Project management experience.
- Existing industry networks and stakeholder relationships.
- Connections within the Queensland transport infrastructure market.
