Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) is the principal contractor for Snowy Hydro's Snowy 2.0, Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. Purpose of the Role
The role of the Quality Inspector is to ensure and verify that construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and documented procedures. This role involves attending inspections, witnessing testing activities, and conducting surveillance of activities to ensure compliance with the project specification.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering or related discipline
Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in the construction industry in a similar role is preferred
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
- A keen eye for identifying defects and deviations
- Understanding of Quality control standards and testing methodologies
- Effective communication skills to report findings and collaborate with teams
- Familiar with the specific industry standard and practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Proficiency with Aconex, GLAASS and electronic document management system
- Sound knowledge of construction materials and related specifications
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- Robust initiative and proactive nature
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Undertake quality inspections on site and subcontractors' worksites to ensure conformity with the relevant inspection and test plans (ITPs) and drawings.
- Collect work lot and quality records.
- Verify and record the implementation of corrective actions for identified non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Manage any occurring defects.
- Review and consult with the Quality Coordinator on matters of surveillance and inspection, including subcontracted works.
- Communicate and resolve any construction quality issues proactively with the relevant site supervisor.
- Fill and populate Quality Inspector diary.
