About the Opportunity

MGC are seeking an experienced Rail and Civil Workers to join our team and support delivery of major projects in Queensland and regional NSW based out of our Brisbane office.

We are looking for candidates who have experience working within greenfield and brownfield rail projects (at QR, Aurizon, Inland Rail, ARTC and other rail networks).

We are keen to speak with individuals who possess an enthusiastic approach to safety and teamwork, as well as taking pride on the quality of the works they have completed seeing these as not only infrastructure but also unlocking the social and economic benefits for communities it is meant to serve.

This is an prospect to grow your career, gain exposure to major projects, and develop trade skills as part of the pioneering rail systems-centric team in QLD and NSW, while contributing to the east coast’s big build in critical rail infrastructure through to the next decade.

We are currently recruiting for the below positions:

- Rail and Civil Workers
- Rail Workers with active QR Recipients (Authorised Person) credentials
- Rail and Civil Leading Hands
- Civil Trades (FRP, bored foundation, and culvert structures)
- Plant Operators (non hi-rail and hi-rail plant) – excavators and FEL
- Rail Welders

About you

You are a proactive, organised, and solutions-focused individual with a can-do attitude who thrives in a fast-paced working environment and the ability to work with a high performing team.





You will bring

- Construction White Card and RIW Card
- Cert II in Rail and/or Civil Infrastructure
- Current Driver’s Licence with own transport (HR Licence desirable)
- Rail construction/maintenance experience and willingness to travel regionally across QLD & NSW
- QR WET, SARC, Fatigue Management & Network LOLO highly desirable; training can be provided by MGCS for suitable candidates.

Operators:
- Loader, excavator, bobcat, possi track, forklift, hi-ab crane tickets and competency levels to operate effectively

QR Recipients (Authorised Person):
- Tickets and logbook to document that QR competency is up-to-date.
- Experienced working with contractors within brownfield rail environment and during SCAS Possession Works.
- Safety focused and experienced with SCA and Form C process including working knowledge in the implementation of controls when works involve plant e.g. POZ (plant operating zones), mechanical restrictors etc.

Civil trades:
- Certificates in formwork and concreting
- Documented experience in FRP work with background in bored foundation and drainage works highly valuable

Rail welders:
- Welding tickets with QR competencies highly valuable.
