Company Description Tidyminds Counseling and Psychotherapy is a neuroaffirming counselling practice founded in Canberra, ACT in 2020. The practice provides both online and in-person therapeutic support for children, adults, and couples. Tidyminds is grounded in a strong respect for neurodiversity and the many ways individuals think, feel, communicate, and connect.

Role Description This contract role for a Registered Counsellor (ACA Level 3/4 or PACFA Clinical) based in Canberra and offered as a hybrid position, combining in-person sessions at the practice with some work-from-home flex ibility.
Day-to-day responsibilities include providing individual, child, and couple counselling using neuroaffirming and evidence-informed approaches, and developing tailored treatment plans.
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, collaborate with other practitioners and external supports, and contribute to case discussions and service improvements. T he role also involves managing client caseloads, participating in supervision, and supporting a welcoming and inclusive environment for all clients.
Flexibility in scheduling and a commitment to ethical, client-centered practice are key aspects of this position.
Qualifications
- Recognised counselling qualification (e.g., Bachelor or Master in Counselling, Psychotherapy, or related field) and current registration with an appropriate professional body (such as PACFA or ACA).
- Demonstrated experience providing counselling to neurodivergent clients, children, adults, and/or couples, with a strong commitment to neuroaffirming practice.
- Skills in case formulation, and treatment planning, with the ability to tailor interventions to individual needs and goals.
- Solid therapeutic communication skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to build safe and trusting relationships with diverse clients.
- Competence in maintaining clinical records, managing confidential information, and adhering to ethical and legal standards in mental health practice.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small practice setting, including participation in supervision and team meetings.
- Comfort with hybrid work arrangements, including use of telehealth platforms and basic digital tools for online sessions and administration.
- Current Working With Vulnerable People (or equivalent) check, professional indemnity insurance, and ongoing commitment to professional development.
