A procurement-led role with hands-on responsibility for purchasing, inventory control, warehouse operations and international logistics.

About Reach Robotics

At Reach Robotics, our vision is to extend human reach into harsh environments. We design and manufacture advanced subsea robotic manipulator systems used in demanding environments around the world.

Based in Glebe, Sydney, we are a growing Australian technology company with an international supplier and customer base. Our products combine complex mechanical, electronic and software systems, and are developed and manufactured by highly specialised engineers and technicians.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will coordinate purchasing, materials, warehousing and logistics activities across the business. The role supports both Manufacturing and R&D; by ensuring components, materials and consumables are sourced, received, stored and made available when required.

You will work closely with engineers, production staff, suppliers, freight providers and customers. This is a practical, hands‑on position suited to someone who can move confidently between purchase order management, supplier follow‑up, ERP transactions, inventory control, packing and international shipment coordination.

Key responsibilities

Purchasing and supplier coordination

- Raise, issue and manage purchase orders for components, materials, tooling and consumables.
- Obtain quotations, compare commercial terms and support sourcing of new suppliers and products.
- Monitor purchase orders, supplier lead times and delivery commitments, and expedite critical requirements.
- Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, purchasing and delivery information in the ERP system.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing and R&D; to understand priorities, upcoming requirements and material constraints.
- Build effective working relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
- Support supplier performance monitoring, cost control and continuous improvement activities.

Warehouse and inventory

- Manage day‑to‑day warehouse organisation, storage locations and material movements.
- Receive incoming goods, verify deliveries against purchase orders and complete ERP receiving transactions.
- Coordinate goods receiving and incoming inspection requirements with the relevant Manufacturing and Engineering stakeholders.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock reconciliation and investigation of discrepancies.
- Prepare finished goods, spare parts and other items for secure domestic and international transport.
- Maintain a safe, clean and well‑organised warehouse and dispatch area.

Logistics, shipping and customer delivery

- Coordinate domestic and international inbound and outbound shipments.
- Prepare packing lists, commercial invoices, customs information and other shipping documentation.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, couriers, customs brokers, suppliers and customers regarding shipment requirements and status.
- Track shipments, resolve delivery issues and communicate material or customer delivery risks promptly.
- Ensure goods are accurately packed, labelled and documented before dispatch.
- Follow company procedures relating to shipping, customs, import/export and export control compliance.

Essential experience and capabilities

- Demonstrated experience across both purchasing/procurement and warehouse operations.
- Previous purchasing and warehousing experience in an engineering, manufacturing, electronics, robotics, defence or similarly technical environment.
- Hands‑on experience using an ERP system for purchase orders, goods receipt, inventory transactions and stock control.

- Experience coordinating domestic and international freight and preparing shipping documentation.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, warehouse processes and material traceability.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage competing priorities.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Manufacturing, R&D;, suppliers, logistics providers and customers.
- A proactive and practical solutions mindset to resolving supply, inventory and logistics issues.
- Full Australian working rights.

Highly desirable

- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Understanding of electro‑mechanical components, technical specifications and bills of materials.
- Experience with supplier negotiation, purchasing analysis or supplier performance management.
- Knowledge of import/export requirements, customs processes or export‑controlled goods.
- Exposure to Lean, 5S or other continuous improvement practices.

What we offer

- A broad role with genuine ownership across procurement, inventory, warehousing and international logistics.
- The opportunity to work with advanced robotics technology and technically complex products.
- Close collaboration with highly skilled engineers, technicians and operational leaders.
- A supportive, collaborative team environment in a growing Australian technology company.
- Convenient Glebe location close to Sydney CBD, with opportunities for professional development and role growth.

About you

You are likely to be successful in this role if you are commercially aware, highly organised and equally comfortable working at a computer or in the warehouse. You understand that good purchasing and logistics coordination is critical to keeping production moving, supporting engineers and meeting customer commitments. You take ownership, follow through on details and communicate risks early.

Only applicants with valid Australian working rights will be considered.
